Supervision for Graduate Students and Internship hours

Supervision for Graduate Students and Internship hours

In providing supervision to a supervisee within the mental health counseling profession, I will employ the developmental model, which acknowledges that supervisees progress through distinct stages of growth and competency.

Initially, my supervision will be directive, providing explicit guidance and structured feedback to support the supervisee in developing foundational skills and building confidence. As the supervisee gains experience, my approach will transition to a more collaborative style, fostering critical thinking and self-reflection, thus promoting professional autonomy. In the advanced stages, I will adopt a consultant role, offering nuanced support and facilitating peer learning and the acquisition of advanced clinical skills.

Throughout all stages, I will prioritize creating a supportive and trusting environment, ensuring that the supervisee feels secure in exploring and discussing clinical challenges.

This approach guarantees that the developmental needs of the supervisee are met, thereby fostering both personal and professional growth.
